What is the difference between broadband and dial-up and why should you use it?
Broadband is a method of connecting to the Internet at high speeds. Broadband is better than dial-up as it is up to 10 times faster.
Broadband provides an "always-on" high-speed Internet connection and means that someone can be on the phone, someone searching the Internet and someone else playing computer games online all through the same broadband connection.
Dial up, will mean each time you want to use the telephone whilst connecting to the Internet, you will need to disconnect your connection so you can call out or receive incoming calls. And Vice versa - when using Dial up you will not be able to recieve incoming calls.
Broadband enables you to both make and recieve telephone calls at the same time. If you use a dial-up connection to the Internet it can take a long time to access web sites and to send and receive emails.
Broadband is much faster and allows you to do many things at once, including allowing several people access to the Internet using one connection.

For gamers having broadband reduces the stuttering and lagg that you find when online gaming and lowers “ping” which in other words means connection and performance is improved.
