Media streaming is a method of providing audio, video and data files around the home.
Streaming is done in two ways – firstly media can be streamed from the internet direct to a streaming device, this is usually done via a content provider.
Alternatively, media streaming consist of media stored in a central device like a PC, laptop or storage server which can be accessed and streamed directly to a media streaming device.
With the introduction of PowerLine HomePlug technology it is possible to stream high definition movies, music and podcasts from a storage server in one room in your home directly to a media streaming device in any other room i.e. Study to Lounge.
