Both ZyXEL's Network Multimedia Server and Digital Media Streamer speak to each other using the built in DLNA certified server.
DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance which is the official body that provides interoperable standards so you can use your device with any other DLNA certified device.
The server automatically creates a library of all your multimedia content and enables files to be easily accessed and shared across your PowerLine HomePlug network so you can you can view or listen to the stored content via your TV by accessing the menu on the Digital Media Streamer.
DLNA is not unique to ZyXEL so ZyXEL DLNA certified devices will be interoperable with other certified devices.
> Why do I need a Media Storage device?
> What is media streaming and what will it allow me to do?
